Cape Harbour

Cape Harbour in Cape Coral, Florida, is a shining example of a successful waterfront development that has grown into a vibrant community. The history of this area is a testament to the vision and determination of the real estate developer who transformed what was once undeveloped land into a bustling neighborhood. It all began when Realmark purchased the project in 2000 from Avatar Corporation, which had only recently begun constructing single-family homes.

Realmark 's vision led to the creation of a community that now boasts luxury condos, townhomes, and both off-water and gulf access single-family homes.

The Cape Harbour Marina, a full-service facility, is at the heart of this community, providing wet and transient slips, dry storage, and a host of amenities including shore power, freshwater hookups, free Wi-Fi, pump-out services, laundry, and showers. Residents and marina tenants enjoy gated access to the slips and the convenience of being located on the spreader canal near the mouth of the river, making it one of the best boating locations in Southwest Florida.

Over the years, Cape Harbour has seen many businesses come and go, with a current mix of established and newer businesses contributing to the community's dynamic atmosphere. The area continues to develop, with new construction underway on the remaining buildable land, primarily consisting of on and off-water townhomes. This last phase of construction, expected to be completed in three parts, promises to enhance the living experience in Cape Harbour even further.

Cape Coral itself has a rich history, evolving from a rural area with cattle farms and gladiolus fields to a city renowned for its extensive canal system, parks, and family-friendly environment. The transformation is a remarkable journey from its inception in the late 1950s by the Gulf American Land Corporation, founded by Leonard and Jack Rosen, with the goal of creating a "Waterfront Wonderland."

Today, Cape Harbour is not just a place to live; it is a destination offering a plethora of restaurants, shops, and entertainment options, all accessible by boat. It's a community that has embraced its history and looks forward to a future of continued growth and prosperity.
